What is STEP?

STEP (Skills, Talent and Empowerment through Pathways) is an EU-funded, Irish government-supported programme delivered in Ireland through a partnership between The Open Community and Talent Beyond Boundaries. 

What we do 

STEP supports employers who are exploring international recruitment by providing access to skilled candidates and practical guidance throughout the hiring process. There are no candidate sourcing or recruitment fees for employers. STEP provides support and guidance from the initial conversation through to arrival and early integration.

Access to a global talent pool

STEP provides access to an untapped pool of over 140,000+ skilled professionals across a range of sectors experiencing skills shortages.

Guidance throughout the process

We provide practical guidance on candidate sourcing, employment permits, visas, expected timelines and early integration.

Support before and after arrival

STEP offers support before, during and after arrival, helping employers and new employees navigate early integration.

 
 

You’ll become part of The Open Community Allies Network – CAIRDE. In close collaboration with the Open Doors Initiative, the CAIRDE network comprises a diverse national network of organisations/businesses who share a commitment to maximise the potential of Community Sponsorship in Ireland.

Ways that Businesses can support Community Sponsorship:

  1. Promote Community Sponsorship across employee and/or community networks to encourage and support the formation of new groups
  2. Provide industry or sector expertise and funding
  3. Include Community Sponsorship as part of CSR commitments e.g., commit volunteer days to community sponsorship activities
  4. Provide training and/or employment opportunities for newcomers
