About The Open Community
The Open Community CLG is the national support organisation for Ireland’s Community Sponsorship Programme for Refugees. The Open Community engages and supports people all over Ireland to welcome refugees into their local communities.
The Open Community empowers both communities and refugees through:
Promotion
The Open Community is dedicated to promoting, enhancing and developing Community Sponsorship across Ireland.
Support
The Open Community provides a central hub of support, guidance and resources to the Irish Community Sponsorship movement.
Mobilisation
The Open Community mobilises a diverse range of individuals, communities and organisations to welcome and support refugees as they rebuild their lives in safety.
We work in partnership with the Irish Refugee Protection Programme, UNHCR, Doras, the Irish Red Cross, the Irish Refugee Council, Nasc, and Amnesty International Ireland to support community-led welcome for refugees in Ireland.
